Most of us have a habit of accepting any job delegated to us from our superior to please him/her. Whenever a task is delegated we will jump to say "Yes Boss!" "Ok Sir/Madam!". It is a nice thing to say as long as you are able to fulfill the obligation on time. But when you are unable to fulfill them, it turns a havoc.
It is understandable that you are unable to say "NO", especially if you are a new employee striving to put yourself abreast of the competition you face from your colleagues, or you are a obedient employee and unable to say or never said NO to your superior / manager.
Just imagine the consequences when you are unable to complete your task. Your superior is simply going to accuse you for not accomplishing what you had accepted. And all the credits you earned is ultimately drowned and not recognized. The organisation has to bear the consequences for your mistake.
Simply, make life easy by saying "No". Its always ideal to keep track of all your responsibilities and deadlines, and be vigilant when you undertake new responsibilities or deadlines. Communicate politely to your superior by discussing the responsibilities or the deadlines which you already have, and ask his suggestion on how you would work out with the new responsibility/ deadline.
You could suggest your superior / manager to take up the task at a future date if the task delegated is not a priority or postpone or drop some of the existing tasks or deadline to take up the new job or responsibility.
Its also possible that you can suggest some one in your company capable / suitable of handling the new task. This will make yours and others life easy and keep you safe from unnecessary risk or stress.
Rule of a thumb: NEVER UNDERTAKE A JOB OR RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FULFILL IT SIMPLY SAY "NO".

Some Steps To Get Recognised Sooner In Your Job?
Even if your performance is at high peak, and you are a dedicated, sincere employee, there are chances that you are not recognized by your company. One of the main causes is not communicating your performance to your superior. You will not be recognized unless your achievements are communicated which will pave your path for promotion and job satisfaction.
Proper Goal Setting
Any task undertaken without clearly described goals will not produce results. End of the day, the management counts your performance and not the number of hours you worked. Therefore get your goals clearly described. Communicate with your superior clearly what they expect from you. They will be happy to tell you about it.
Action Plan
Prepare an action plan describing the main steps to achieve your goal. Mark the time and the resources required to achieve your goals. This will help you to commit to the deadline and request resources well in advance.
Action plans help you to determine your performance periodically and how far you have achieved your goal. It also motivates you when you are accomplishing milestones well in time. In case you are not fairing well as planned, action plans give an early indication to take appropriate corrective action and help remove the obstacles in reaching goals.
Measure
Measure your performance periodically. Set performance indicators, and measure your achievement. Measuring provides you confidence that you are upon the right tract. It also helps you in your decision making. If you dont measure you would not know where you stand. Also its recommended to have numerical/graphical data in your measurement tools, which will be very helpful for decision making
Communicate your performance
When you have achieved your goals successfully, communicate it to your seniors and communicate the advantages of what you have achieved. Never remain silent about your achievements. Your manager is not going to recognize what you achieved unless you communicate to them. There are many best performers who failed in their Job career due to lack of communicating their achievements. Ultimately, all what they look is the end result. Therefore don't let your achievements go unrecognized.
Communicate your achievement in most simple way if possible. This will encourage your manager to look your achievement records. Long boring reports always rest in the racks and therefore it will not serve the purpose. Present your achievement in forms of numerical / graphical format which does not consume much time of the management to go over. Add reports or comments if essential. Jobs in Saudi Arabia - Things to consider before coming...
Its been a long time since I blogged on my Site. Was busy with some of my projects. As I am working in Jubail Industrial City, KSA, I just thought of sharing my thought about Jobs in Jubail and the rest of the Kingdom.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is rich of Job opportunities, mostly technical categories are of a high demand. Especially in Jubail there are many of Job Opportunities available in the market. All you need to do is to prepare an attractive CV and apply in a standard recruitment agent in your country,
Choosing your recruitment agent.
You have to take extensive care in choosing your recruitment agent, because personal experience says that most of them breach the law and ultimately you have to suffer in your Job
Check your company
Check well about the company and its standards to identify whether it meets what you expected. Many recruitment agents boast about the company they are sending you to. But 90 % of it are not true. Many companies do not pay on time, or you will be assigned a job which you were not recruited for. So I would make it mandatory for any one seeking opportunities to verify the company from their own source. I myself can help any one who is interested to know about a company. You can email me @ dilshanh@gmail.com.
Recruitment Fees
Make sure what you pay for the recruitment agent. Recruitment agents have the tendency of charging high for low categories of Job. Try to find out the other recruitment office to find out whether you are paying a reasonable fare. There are many companies who offer free recruitment but are charged very highly by these recruitment agents.
Correct Visa category for Family Visa
Make sure your visa category is a good category or matches your profession. Especially in Saudi Arabia, you need to have a good visa profession in order to entitle yourself for Family Visa. I see many of the qualified managers, technician are deprived of taking their loved ones to them due to having a low category visa.
So the visa category which you choose is going to decide your destiny. Always make sure that you get a visa category which matches your skills. This will keep you on the safe side.
If you are intending to bring your family to Saudi Arabia. I would advise you to get a driving license from your own country. This will easy many of the procedures here.
These are the few points which come in to my mind when we talk about employment in Saudi Arabia. I will be posting more about the Jobs in Saudi Arabia to make the Job seekers aware about important things to consider before they commit to an offer.
I appreciate the readers comment about their experience in the Middle East as well...
